My 60th Birthday - Final Preparations

Well it had to come, you can't remain 21 for ever!!!

Grace, my wife, had been planning this big celebration for months and my eldest daughter, husband and granddaughter had all flown over from the UK to help celebrate, as well as having a holiday.

So on the morning of the 12th July there was enormous hustle and bustle........

Putting up the welcoming banner

Getting into our party frocks!!

Laying out all the tables under the marquees

And assembling the waitresses and waiters

Did you just catch a glimpse of that pig? Well here you can see her in all her glory......

And yes it was delicious!!!!!

Cogratulations Jonathan & well done Grace for arranging the celebrations, it looks fantastic. Great to see the Britt family - how time flies! It looks as if evryone had a great time except perhaps for the pig although I thought I saw a smile! The scenery looks fabulous from the photo's. It was great that you could offer the garage as a delivery room! We are off to Venice, Florence & Tuscany on Tuesday for 2 weeks - Tina finally decided she could get on a plane again - not sure what she will be like on Tuesday! We really need a holiday, work for me has been very busy, today we were officially taken over by a new company so it is strange leaving the team after 1 day especially as I am now the UK Manager!!! 1st Sept we welcome Fr David Adams as the new Priest, I am looking forward to working with him as the last 2 years have to say the least been difficult. I think Fr David and his housekeeper will be good for the Parish and I am looking for a renewal of faith & Spirit with him. Unfortunately St M's will not be ready as the repair and clean after the fire is taking longer than expected, we are also making changes at the same time - utilising the space at the back of the Sanctuary by making a Parish room.
Hopefully in the not too distant future we may tackle a long haul flight and get to visit you!!
Thanks again for the blog
Love you both Tina & Steve xx
